Is this a Freelander?

They're not good pics and the article just says a '4WD', but it looks like a Freelander to me.

If its red, that's not a million miles from @htr - hope its not yours mate.

Ee do luke laike a Freelanderist, tiz true. Sheet uv 600 grit and a rattlecan, it'll be good agin.

It's not a Freelander, as the front wings haven't melted. It looks like a Mitsubishi or other similar Japanese 4X4, and the tail light style and position support this theory.

no wheel on the back and roof bars different, Ivor yes the engine is the same for auto and manual the difference is the gear box.

The minor detail to be aware of if swapping manual to auto or other way round is that the manual has a pilot bearing in the crank end and it must be removed or the auto drive plate and torque conv won't fit!!

Don't the auto and manual use different injectors? Dunno if they would work as well with an ECU off the other.

Yes but it doesn't seem to matter. Its probably more for emissions than anything else.
