I can say that I have wanted a defender for many years, for it's timeless styling and absolute ruggedness. I finally my persauded wife to take a test drive of a quite new defender
. It was a cold wet day! As I presummed my wife's question would follow pretty soon, she asked "why doesn't the de-mister work
?" My reply was "it's a landrover they don't work. so needless to say, my wife had to say no to my desire to own a Defender. She test drove a dicovery 3 and one is now parked in our drive. She is delighted with it's looks, performance and quality comfortable (car like) interior. And loves the elevated driving possition. She never complains about having to take the lr3 back to the dealership regulary to correct faults that have often accured- because she loves it! I am happy, that she is happy!
For me the lr3 does exactly what a landrover is meant to do.
