Just imagine changing a tyre with twelve months wear left on it. Spendthrift. :D:D

didn't fancy taking that risk, wouldn't have been very clever with this snow :D

the other side had about 5-6 mm so kept that as my spare

always go on the side of caution and what if

I was going to suggest that looking at your pictures, that brake disc doesn't appear to be at its best.

was also thinking that

backplate doesn't look to good either , looks like a total tear down and replace

inc hoses, know they can't be seen but just going by the general condition

Even though the legal limit is 1.6 mm over 3/4 of the width of the tread, the motoring organisations do recommend a minimum tread depth of 3 mm for winter driving.

totally agree , the tyre was low enough for me,

just don't like pushing my luck, as it's just not me on the road

would never forgive myself if it had skidded , aqua plained etc and hit someone , all because i had low tread on my tyres

thank christ i replaced them last week, gave me peace of mind when the snow came down today in knowing i had four brand new tyres

they done really well , didn't slide at all , but kept under 30 mph anyway , as it's the stopping as well, if a car or person went in front of me
