Is My RR Fuel Breather Pipe Blocked?

I have petrol spurting from the fuel cap of my old Range Rover whilst driving, and have been told it could be a breather problem.
From the cap side, I have just feed a length of flexible net curtain wire down one of the breather pipes, and after less than two feet it is meeting resistance - surely it should have travelled as far as I could have feed it?
Thus, could the breather pipe be blocked, as suggested?

Any advice much appreciated.

Some tanks have anti syphon grills in the neck. What year is your car?

PS use bigger fonts please us old farts can't read that small stuff.

Don't have manuals going back that far, maybe one of the other lads knows more. If it has carbs it is not likely to have a closed circuit system. Does it do it around bends as the fuel slops about, if so an internal baffle may have come adrift.

3.5 efi had electric pump on nsr from memory and unless something has gone haywire within tank it is a strange fault- does it dump fuel if you have cap off?

Or or it possible the cap instead of a vacuum fault, cap is allowing pressure to build with blocked vent hole.

firstly wammers you were 60 when the 1984 rr came out so no excuses re manuals :p

secondly fanny I think its carb not efi?

Thirdly O/P are you sure its not just the seal on the cap knackered, going rounder corners will make it spill then, dont ask me how I know! you can get to and replace all the breather hoses from underneath and its not too bad a job, just make sure all the mud is washed of or wear goggles or both!

My memory is shot but should still have electric pump-in tank as 110 possibly- I'm on straight shots- so I'll bow to superior knowledge

you might be rite fanny as it was change over in 85 I think from facet tap tap in front of the back wheel to the in tank solid state I think. I will also bow to superior knowledge though if peeps know better :D
