Taking my 17 year old Freelander 2 SE along to a body shop for a bit of tlc?
The dreaded tin worm is starting to take its toll with rust and bubbling paint making appearance here there and, to be perfectly honest, just about everywhere. The badly corroded rear subframe was replaced last autumn.
Despite the high mileage it's as sound as a pound and everything works (except the glowplugs and Bluetooth and I don't care about them. The former have never worked and their absence has never caused a problem. The latter went tits up a few months ago and I've not got round to replacing the module yet).
So, is it worth spending what may turn out to be the value of the car just to extend its life by a few more years?
