Yep I agree entirely that a car can be in excellent condition after 100k, the problem is it carries a stigma, and in my experience makes them impossible to sell on except at a rediclous low price.... so personaly now I won't buy anything with over 65k on it, that gives me a couple of years before I can move along, my 2002 p38 has just clocked 80k so thats why I am looking for a change!

Car £10,000
Engine £ 4000
Gas Con £ 2000
2010 con £ 3000
wheels £ 2000

Yep your right - except the point you miss is every single other compenant on the car has done 100k too!

I did not miss the point mearly ignored it. Just as someone stupid enough to buy it will miss the point that it is just not worth that amount of money. Just the same as kids will pay £80.00 for a new pair of jeans or £100.00 for the same jeans with the knees cut out of them and designer slashed in various places. It is a six year old car. It has 43,000 miles on it average would be around 60,000. 17,000 miles does not equate to twice the price i am afraid. The modifications are almost irrelivant in terms of resale value. But bet there will be some stupid enough to buy it.

I have to disagree....

Now you are saying you can find a 60k example for 10k - please lead me too it.

To me all the mods are relevant, not valueless bling for which you never get the money back...

The gas conversion is essential on a V8
Range Rovers look **** without decent wheels (fact)
And the 2010 kit does exactly what it says on the tin, put a private plate on and the average joe does'nt know the difference.... + its a significant improvement in looks, I could never take to the early L322's

Adding a £2,000 stereo and £1,000 wheels and tyres to a £2,000 car makes it worth just about £2,000. But hey ho looks like he may have a buyer.:):):)

My "ancient" Neighbour has a 1978 Datsun Bluebird with 23K on the clock he THINKS its worth bout £4K ....But ......Its a 1978 Datsun Bluebird & is worth what a 1978 Datsun Bluebird REALLY IS worth ...

About £200 Quid!!!!!!!!!!!

Same with that L322 .... its a 2004 4.4 Vogue & its worth EXACTLY what a 2004 Vogue IS worth.....No matter how many miles its done or how much "Bling" has bin screwed onto it.............

Fitting flash bits does not make ANY motor worth loads more. It simply ads desireability.

Yeah fully agree!

But what this all boils down to its only worth what someone will pay for it! weather that be 10k or 21k

Theres some that dont think bling is the thing & theres some that do, some that think LPG adds to value some that think it adds to desirability, so its just swings and roundabouts with pricing things!:D

Bu the point is, Shirley, that increasing desireability means more peeps want it which, in turn, will drive the price up?
As has been said many times on here "it is worth what someone is prepared to pay" - yu only need one mug.....

Sounds so similar to a bloke i know LOL

(AND THEN OF COURSE THERE ARE THE JUST PLAIN & SIMPLE IDIOTS LOL)

Surely one reason behind owning a Range Rover is that it looks an impressive vehicle, otherwise a 110 station wagon with steel wheels will tick all the boxes?????, so Yes I want a vehicle that looks the part and yes I will pay more for it... you can call it bling or whatever you want, but the fact is park it next a "standard" 04 and it looks better

I'm surprised at the pathetic size of the photos too if he's really serious about getting that money for it. Can't see anything on it really. Even the colour is almost indistinguishable.

If it's as great as he claims then you'd think he'd want to show it off.

No not all, i don't own a Range Rover to impress anyone. I own it because (I) like it and it suites my needs. If i wanted to impress i would maybe go out in my Porsche. But it uses too much juice so it's off the road. A well maintained DSE does fine for me at the moment. Sounds like you would buy the largest sized condoms available then have to put a rubber ban around them to keep them on.:D:D:D

So because I like my vehicles to look good that means I have a small willy - great deduction.... my Range Rover is my swiss army knife it has a 101 uses, and the fact it can do everything I want and still look good cleaned and polished is what makes it my only choice of vehicle.... whats so wrong about that ?

Nothing it's your choice. And a good choice, but if the only reason you have one is to impress people then you have it for the wrong reason in my view. "Surely one reason to own a Range Rover is because it is an impressive car" or something like that, your words not mine. :):)

yep thats correct, I said one reason behind owning a Range Rover is it looks impressive, and for some reason you think that means I have a small dick... I can see your the kind of person who condems everyone you see driving a "flash" car.... even though you don't have a clue what the person driving it is like....
