I finally got around to removing my FL 1 k-series box to replace the clutch (as it turned out, it was, in fact, a clutch plate breakage). My methodology was to follow the manual and split the IRD from the 'box...rightly or wrongly.
Anyhow, I can get all the parts in Cape Town except for what seems to be the oil seal between the IRD and the gearbox. It was left on the input drive / shaft of the IRD on removing the gearbox.

Land Rover SA as well as the other dealers
A: don't seem to know what I'm talking about
B: don't have any

It is approx 35mm outer diameter and 29mm inside diameter and 5mm thick. It's a metal outer with a rubber seal inner (picture below).

Can anyone tell me the LR part number
Can anyone suggest any alternative auto users (IE is it used elsewhere in the industry)?

Kinda frustrating to not be able to replace the 'box because of one lil seal!

Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming it's an internal IRD seal. It's marked as NSP in this image. So it looks like it's not supplied by LR, which makes sense as LR didn't make the IRD. There will be a seal for it available, you'll just need to find one that matches size wise.

Or buy an IRD bearing service kit which comes with the seals too.
