Hi,
I'm reading this forum for a while now and it is a relief to read that i'm not the only one with a strange urge to keep a Land Rover on the road.
At the moment i'm rebuilding my 1983 110 CSW 3.5 V8 LHD. Its originally from Switzerland and when i bought it it was in its original state exept for a hydraulic system with connections at the front of the truck and an airbrake system for trailer brakes.
It also has a very heavy duty rear crossmember as the "V5" stated that this truck had a legal tow weight of 6000 kg!
I made the 110 road legal for the Netherlands and started to modify it a little.
After driving it around for a year whitout major problems i took it apart after the LT95 broke and started to build it from scrap.
At the moment it has a 2" Terrafirma lift with corrected radius and trailing arms. The engine is still a 3.5 V8 but shortblock from a RRC with high compression, EFI heads, 3.9 camshaft and new moving parts.
I fiited a ZF 4HP22 autobox with 1.4 LT230.
LPG installation fitted.
The bulkhead and tub are restored and on the chassis. Equipe tubular winchbumber with a-frame and TDS Goldfish 9.5 fitted.
8 Spoke 16x7J with BFG M/T 255/85/16 fitted.
Next project is waiting in the shed: 1985 RHD RRC V8 from the UK.
Also maintianing and slightly modifying my dad's Series 3 Air Portable ex-Dutch army.
