Being pedantic I know, but why do you use the title 'Classic' whilst talking about a three year old RR o_O
The term Classic, in the case of RR's, ceased to be applied in 1996.

It seems, he used classic because he was unaware that, on this site, the headings are for different models of Range Rover. Perhaps he was alluding to the fact that Range Rovers used to be thought of as outstanding in their class and of the highest quality?

May I suggest you invest in a diag box. It will save you a fortune flagging up issues, most of which you can fix yourself.

Thanks to all for your posts, I have now purchased a diagnostic tool on-line as suggested.
I am just coming to terms with the Range Rover as I have never owned one before, always been Mercedes (Am I allowed to say that on here?)
Anyway, I have learned quite a bit from you all in a very short while, for instance, I now know I own a L405, never heard the term before.
Many thanks.

Diagnostics are always handy. Knowing which vehicle you have is also handy, it ensures you get the right diagnostics ;) Enjoy the learning curve.

Yes you can mention Mercs. :)
J..P seems to be the one that irritates some of the contributors
Glad you found the advice helpful, stick around & unless you are easily offended you'll get used to the (sometimes) warped humour & cynicism.

Well, everything seems to be Ok at the moment after the Auxiliary battery was fitted.
I purchased a diagnostic tool on-line from iCarsoft, although I have not received it yet.
Thank you everyone for your help, I have learned I need a diagnostic tool and my vehicle is an L405!
Spent a lot of time on the internet, trying to decide whether to replace the main battery, although the Main Dealer informs me it is fine.
Think I will wait and see.
Thanks again.

I have a 2015 Range Rover Vogue 4.4, I have an intermittent fault. When I depress the brake and push the start button the engine turns once, then shuts down, it feels like an electrical fault.
I then lock/unlock the car (I don't know why) then after several attempts it starts and runs normally for several days, then the fault appears again. It has happened on four occasions now, so when I get in the car I wonder if it is going to start.
Has anyone come across this problem before?
It's not the battery as eventually it starts as normal - could it be the back up battery that controls the alarm/immobiliser?
hello, this is happening on my Range Rover vogue, did you get this sorted or any advice on this?
