Hi! I am new to the Forum so be gentle with me!

I purchased my new 2003 Disco XS a few months ago and I have an intermittent air suspension problems on the o/s rear only. In the last week (its been colder this week) the rear goes down one side when I park but only 3 times. I start and stop my Landy at least 6 times a day. Anyhow I took it to my local garage and they had a quick look, sprayed the bags with soapy water etc and came up with nothing obvious. It was fine for 4 days then it happened again this morning so I took it for diagnostics at my local LR dealer . They spent an hour on it and found nothing. I didn't want to spend £115 an hour thereafter for them to try and find a "needle" in the haystack. They were talking about checking all the wiring etc or its could be the ECU or solenoid? (Im no mechanic as you can probably tell my LR is my workhorse for towing my pony)

Any ideas that I can point back at my local garage (they are much cheaper) Thanks in advance!

My money is on the bag....they have the ability to seal themselves by time to time... it's very easy to replace them... it's good to do it in pairs even if just one is leaking.

had similar problem when i bought my td5. especially in the cold weather, one side would drop overnight. sometimes it was ok. as sierrafery says. more than likely the bag.

really easy to change, i did my TD5 from coil back to air, took me about 1 1/2 hours. air to air about 1hr.
the cheapest i found was at Paddocks
RKB101200 | RKB101200 Rear Air Spring - including 2x NTC9449 clips

comes with new clips.
you will need to be able to deflate the airbags before you take them off too.

if your anywhere near chester give me a call, i'll do them for you.

Thank you. Unfortunately I'm way over in east Suffolk otherwise I would give you a call :)

i had the same problem with my air bags . the thing to watch out for is if the air bags are leaking the compressor works overtime to try and keep them up . i had to get a new compressor as well as the air bags. ouch. dear old job.

Hi,
I live in ipswich and just changed one of mine becaus eof exactly same issue. It cost around £80 and Dunlop branded. The originals have a screw in connector on the top of the bag but the Dunlop ones have a push fit. You just cut the screw off and away you go.

mine cost £63.50+vat Dunlop from paddocks, each with free delivery too :D

you should change them in pairs

yes if one had gone the other will follow very quickly

Thanks guys! I am ordering a pair from Paddocks (thanks for the link) and I have found a nice fellow Landy owner in my town to fit them for me as he recently replaced his own.;)
