Hi i have a auto freelander 2 that went into limp mode a few weeks ago while driving back from the south of france going up a long incline, when i returned to the uk my local garage found a fault code of P2263, and pending code, P0048, actuator solinoid, sent it away to gave actuator totally rebuilt, at a cost of £200, its been ok for about two weeks or more then yesterday went into limp mode again, same fault code cleared fault again and drove ok today i gave it a real thrashing for about 10 miles to see if it went into limp mode but It did not and runs perfect, i have checked all hoses, electical connections to actuator and linkage, all fine, i did notice at the start of the problem after i first went into limp mode that when idling at traffic lights it would sometimes jump and misfire and surge, any ideas what it can be please as if i take it to the main landrover agents they will prob throw a new turbo on and i will have a bill for about £3000 , and even then it may not cure the fault, turbo comes in fine and roars up to speed in no time.thanks for any clues

I'd be checking the wiring for cracks and damage. Especially if you've had the boost control actuator replaced.
I'm not sure about the quality of a refurbished unit though.

P0049 is showing a high status, which would suggest a wiring issue.

I had the actuator completly refurbed at ecu testing with a lifetime guaranty i will go for a long drive today and see if i can make it go into limp mode, as yesterday i really cleared soot in manual drive holding the gears up to speed let you know joe

Hi i took the freelander for a long drive today it never went into limp mode, but idling at traffic lights while in drive engine hunts, as soon as i take it out of drive with no torque on engine it stops hunting i am completely puzzled, any clues to this problem will be very grateful

I'd running a JLR SDD diagnostic on it, doing a full injector and air path check.

On these complex engines, proper diagnosis can only really be done, using the correct JLR software.
