Hi all I have just bought a f reg defender but every insurance I speak to calls it a classic car and so will only let me drive it 5000 miles, any idea on a good insurance that I am not limited to the mileage?

Mine's with Adrian Flux but there's plenty of 'specialist' land rover insurers out there

I just tried to get our Pajero policy swapped from the Pajero to our new (to me anyway) Defender 90 TD5, the girl on the phone was rude, and then started laughing as she told me it would be £1700! This is for a 10 yr old defender, for my wife and I, 40 and 39 yrs old respectively, wife has full NCB I have full NCB but on another car. My wife's license is clean with no claims, mine has three points and one claim (for £2500), so I wouldn't bother with AF

I asked them about their 15% discount for being a member of the LRO, and she told me she had never heard of it.http://uk.landroverownersclub.com/insurance/
