there all CHEEP!!!! i got a quote yesterday the lowest was £1500 an went to £7500 for an R reg 300 defender 90 guess that's wot happens when you live in down town baghdad :doh: :doh:

Im 42 no points.
But a few months ago I had a 300Tdi and was with lancasters but they decided that they would no longer do limited mileage policys on vehicles under 20 years old.
So I now have a G reg 1990 3.5 V8 Disco with Gas on it and full comp £189 on a linited mileage policy.

I have been quoted £60k before for insurance on a vehicle worth £5k. I'm not joking either.

i think they make the prices up as thay go along i use to have a mitsubishi evo 7 an got a quote 27k it was only 13.5 to buy in the end had to get a motor trade policy the only way :doh:

Just to add further to the poor view of UK insurers - we bought young Ms Bonkers a 2006 Clio 1.4 Dynamique for her 17th birthday in July. Insurance as a learner (we started her off with own policy to build up NCD) with us as named drivers was £900.
Passed her test first time in December - premium shot up to £1300.
The logic is - and I kind of get it - is that as a learner she is always supervised, but as a full and new driver she is not.
Still think folk are right, they make it up day by day, and they take you for a mug if you simply renew each year.

Master B drives a brand new Honda Jazz - but he has no UK licence.
His insurance is £68 a year.
But he is at Uni in Bangkok and has a full Thai licence.
Version C of course.
Version A test all in Thai, multiple choice questions. 100 Baht (£2)
Version B test in Thai and English, multiple choice questions. 100 Baht plus another 100 to the examiner.
Version C test in English, multiple choice with answers. 500 Baht all in.
