instrument cluster gone blank - but it's working?

oh, AND it was working fine during the time the other cluster was in as the garage had apparently 'cleared all faults and codes and synced things'.

so, mechanically, I know the system is good.

If you still have lights on the height control then it may clear itself if you use it.
If you don't have lights on the switch now then i think you will need diagnostics to read and clear the fault.
You may be best plugging it in to diagnostics anyway.

As Andy says above. Lights on means it is a soft fault - not teaching you to suck eggs, but are you doing the lock to lock correctly?

From centre, turn full lock one way hold for a second, then all the wya the other way and hold for a second, then back to centre - it should clear.

If not, it may need a quick diagnostic session as it may have had a hiccup. All lights off is a hard fault and diagnostics is deffo needed.

Just noticed your in Windsor which isn't a billion miles away, if you get totally stuck, I can pop over with the all comms (2002-2005 model years only) and see if there is an issue....but I am tied up with our new baby boy for the next week and a half, but may be able to help post March 26th when I am 'back at work!'

Hiya @holidaychicken

Thanks for the offer of a visit. Best you look after the wee one. I've went for a drive earlier (just around the block for a mile or two) to see if it cleared faults.

I noticed the ABS, DSC and parking brake lights were all on, along with AIR SUSPENSION INACTIVE.

so, a trip up the garage to get it all reset it is.

#sigh.

I thought I could get away with the feel good factor... :)

it is @Saint.V8 who has the wee one, but it obviously works ok ;)

Let us know how it goes, you would do well to get yourself some diagnostics when the budget will allow :)

No probs on the mis-identity....it helps that we are both good looking chaps - so easy mistake to make!

The other warnings come in in sympathy as they all share the same data bus (CANbus) so when one goes down, they all go down as they need eachothers information to work correctly....

Get it plugged in and see whats what. I am sure it is just a hiccup on the CAN, as this 'CAN' happen - pun very much intended.
