Hi All,

I attempted (with the help of a friend) to replace the pixel display that has not been working since I got the Rangey in May last year. I must say the overall experience was one of fear and excitement and i believe it went fairly well. I only have a couple of issues that seem to have come out of this fix randomly and I wondered if anyone has any background knowledge about them?

1/ I now have an SRS light that comes on and goes out for a second on start then stays on, its never happened before so I feel I may have dislodged something whilst taking the top of the dash off or taking out the instrument cluster? I'll post a picture of the icarsoft report as it says SRS Passed its test.

2/ The rev counter has stopped working, the other 3 dials are ok and work, I think I may have seated the needle too far down and its squashed against the dial back board so its got to come back out again. I got a kit from AKSpeedo which actually done a good job tbf. If I have indeed screwed the pooch with the potentiometer then it'll have to go up to them to be remedied. If the SRS system is showing good but the light is red is the system armed and safe to drive? It's 22 years old but like I say it all looked normal prior to removing the cluster.

I noticed that some of the bulbs were out behind the display so I will replace when I have a 2nd go at the rev meter.

a strange size and fit but i've found some X5 bulbs that looks the same.

One last question, I have had the inside valeted as it was really grubby I also changed the big interior cabin filter but it still smells really musty when the blower comes on for a while, any ideas?

As always I look forward to your replies.

I hope the interior valet did not include a steam clean
You can get a spray can to disinfect the heater/aircon system.
The bulbs can be replaced in the holders but you need to be able to solder.

Thanks for the reply Mr Datatek :) No there was no steam clean it was more seats and hard surfaces. The carpets and mats are in nearly new condition, I don't thing this car has ever been worked hard. I still can't believe how tight the engine feels, the V8 petrol sounds so sweet. It starts on the button although the lazy mans starter is taking a bit of getting used to haha! I've also noticed since the transmission fluid and filter service I've lost the annoying judder around 40-50 mph. For a 22 yr old car its in surprisingly good order.
