Hello everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I live on the Island of Gozo and getting spares for my old P38 diesel is a nightmare since brexit. I have just changed my glow plugs and ordered a set of gaskets for the exhaust manifold but they have been stopped at customs and could be months before they release them ( I ordered a replacement glass for my stove last year in January and even though it arrived here at end of January customs didn't release until April when Winter was over ! ) I wondered if I can use a form of instant gasket to see me through until gaskets arrive ? I have 2.5 BMW diesel with metal manifold NOT plastic one. Many thanks in advance _ Jack

No harm in trying, I think it should work

Your heading says inlet manifold, the body of your post says exhaust manifold.
If it's the inlet then no reason why you shouldn't use RTV or gasket paper to make your own.
When I was young & skint we used to make gaskets for our old British bikes from cardboard cereal packets. Worked just fine.
