would love to mate but still got these silly road tyres on, etc, hoping my kit will be here and fitted this week so was thinking maybe next weekend?
Got front and rear diff guard Ideal for rusting your diff pans through, steering guard Worth having, snorkel and wading kit Worth having , hi lift jack and mounts and adaptor Worth having but purely for emergency use. If you want to live you must use it carefully, insa special trax 265/75 r16 Worth having but you should go offroading with your road tyres before fitting. That way you know how much difference they make. and a tiny little 4500lb winch coming with a tray to pop it on the front bumper. I hope you know how to use it properly cos otherwise you may just lose your head. A winch that small will need a snatch block

What else should i invest in? Recovery straps/ropes, jate rings, rated shackles

got a mate doing a 2" lift but not for a few weeks.
all the above has cost enough for 1 week! haha Why do you want a lift? What do you hope to gain from it?

sweet. like it. the winch is for my work more than anything, although with a 3 way snatch block i think even that would help me out of a mild bog if i need it wouldn't it?

What is it you do for work?

With a 3 way snatch block it should be ok as long as you are only lightly stuck and aren't getting pulled in by a vacuum.

The 4500lb winches like to snap in half so keep a close eye on it. If you are out with others, you are far better off getting another vehicle to pull you out. I have an emergency 2 ton leccy winch and it's pulled some amazing things. As long as you are careful and know how to get the best from yer winch you'll be ok.

Don't forget that if yer on yer own and get stuck, a winch aint any god without summit to attatch it to.

im a builder, the winches have always come in usefull for hoisting kit up scaffolding! haha

ok thanks for the advice ill keep it in mind. im looking for a anchor now, want the flat type with the pins, any idea where i can get 1 at a good price?

Kinetic ropes are great but as far as I am concerned they are a last resort. I've had mine for over 5 years now and NEVER had to use it yet.

Get yerself some angle iron. Cut 5 lengths of about 18" and make a point on one end and drill a hole on the other. deploy em in a v with a chain and D shackles holding em together. Dirt cheap then.;)

Ground anchors from Anchor supplies

Forget the kinetic rope unless you are a very accomplished off roader with plenty of experience of doing snatch recoveries. I wouldn't bother. I'd never allow anyone to recover me using a kinetic rope. They put too much strain on recovery points and tow hitches. & if they snap can easily kill or seriously maim someone.

thanks ratty thats an amazing idea ill knock that up tomorrow. perfect.

mad hat man do you believe only people that know it all without asking should be on here?

No probs.:)

I think you'll find that what MHM was hinting at is that kinetic ropes tend to start arguements between those that think they are dangerous and those that think they are the best thing since sliced bread.;)
