Hi,
Well, I know I probably shouldn't have, but having fixed the brakes and having changed the turbo (mine was very oily and she lacks the power she did have(as much as a diesel has)) I couldn't resist having a fiddle with the injectors as I had a spare set of bodies. I have a pop tester and have done two lots of injector nozzles on a mercedes om636 and a small yanmar engine so it seems I had the false confidence to try it on the RR.
So took the set of injectors had been given, bought a set of nozzles (ebay) and a large can of brake and clutch cleaner.
so checked the opening pressure of the old injectors and seemed to be around 140 bar.
So one at a time took apart injectors, cleaned with brake and clutch cleaner and refitted new knozzles, torques to 80lb/ft
Did all six injectors.
Fitted to engine but left the copper washers in place and torqued to 90lb/ft.
Ran an one body leaked so took apart and cleaned, still leaked, fitted an original injector back in.
So started nicely, tick good drives well but at tick over when hot it is running rough, have cracked off each injector pipe to see if needed more bleeding, also engine ran more roughly.
I was thinking about changing the no4 injector back in (with wire) or have I got the opening pressures wrong? Have I finally broken it?
Thanks for any suggestions.
