Right, trying to get this 2.25 doozel grafting, Ive bled the fuel system and every thing seems to be in order, but when i open the injector pipes to bled the pump and i only get drips of doozel out, instead of it squirting out. is there any thing I'm missing or could the pump be nakad.

I bought the engine under "running when removed about 2 years ago".
 
am not saying it is that, but if you have fuel up to the injector pump then it gotta be either the pump or the pump drive.
has the pump got a bled screw on the top of it?
 
There is doozel out the other side of the pump, just at a lower pressure than expected, ile have a look for a bleed screw!
 
Does your stop solenoid work properly? is it still in? to test it disconnect the wire from the inj pump turn yr ignition on and touch the solenoid connection with the wire ..if you hear n feel it click then its working ok.I bought a 2.5 n/a with the same symptoms and after trying everything at least 3 times i gave in and bought another pump.The bloke i got the vehicle off had driven it to scotland from north yorkshire left it for 2 weeks while holidayin and it just wouldn't start and the AA coudn't get it to run either and recovered it back to north yorks' it could be the same mysterious faliure but dont give up till you have tried and tried cos there a swine to bleed anyway!
 
Before doing anything with consequences or expensive,

GET AND READ A MANUAL about chasing the fuel through, and getting the air OUT.

It sounds like you are feeling your way here which may be a good plan with the lady, but may not be so good with the Landy.

Patience and observation ar both needed, and experience.

Nobody sells those yet .... so read up, take care, and if possible find someone who can show you.

Perhaps it is, but that did not answer Slob's question.

No pressure out the lifty pump = stuffed.

"New pumps" can be (a) good, (b) no good (c) look right and fit but actually wrong kind and don't pump (d) not able to SUCK fuel from the tank ..... and so on.

Now work on Slob's question or he'll go in the huff again.

Right i get plenty of doozel to the pump, i removed the injector pipes from the pump, turned it over and not a sausage came out. I've done everything that the manual said on bleeding, three times.

I have all clear fuel pipes so i can see any air and they ain't any.

To remove the pump seems straight forward, but the manual says if fitting a replacement pump you need special tool No. XXXXXXXXX, any ideas.
 
Right i have removed the pump, drive gear is fine, but wen i turn the pump by hand, or if i shake it the seems to be something loose inside, should there be?
 
Yes ... all the bits of governors and so on.

You were far too quick to take it off.

Now that it's off there are only two possibilities:

1. Put it back (as is or after very expensive overhaul)

or

2. get another one and fit it
