Hello everyone,

I am in the process of getting my 90 running again. I am at the stage of doing the timing. On the injection pump pulley there are two marks, a"dot" (like on the camshaft pulley and timing belt sprocket) and a"F" with a line next to it. Which mark do I use? It is a 12j 2.5na diesel.

Thanks

dot , f is for frieght rover variant ,but exact timing is done through plug on side of pump ,where there is a disc with a slot in it ,slot needs to aling with hole for timing to be correct alignment is by slckening screws and rotating pump

Thanks for that. Had a go at this yesterday and had done as you suggested. The engine appears to tick over ok, not replaced all the bits yet so didn't run it too long. What I did notice however, it sounded like a Norfolk Broads boat (pup pup pup). The noise appeared to be coming from the air intake. When I placed my hand over the air intake the noise stopped. Plenty of suction from the engine. Any ideas/thoughts?

Thanks
Mister
