Just got in from nightshift. Noticed on the way home that it was smoking a bit, it doesn’t normally smoke at all when driving.

Got home, string smell of diesel, HUGE puddle under the car, FIP is ****ing fuel out! It’s coming from somewhere near the front, at the bottom. It looks like there could be some form of access plate with 2 bolts holding it on. I haven’t had a look on the net yet as just got in. Any ideas?

Looking at this parts image, it’s coming from #36 or #39. Is this as simple as remove the cover #39 and replace #36?

Not anything I have delt with but it does look that simple just an O ring on an access plate.Someone who knows will come along Iam sure.:)

After searching the part, it doesn’t appear to be an O ring, but a “seal ring”. It’s more square section. I will put an O ring in if it seals, as a temp measure while I get a replacement. I’m supposed to driving back to work at 1800 tonight!

More like the square section of an oil filter seal then. On similar things I have cut a square ring to size and superglued the ends together in an emergancy. Good luck.

I've taken that plate off and can confirm that nothing drops out.
I used a thin smear of something that I can't remember and reassembled and it fixed it.
It then leaked from the nose seal some time later so I had the whole pump resealed.

I don’t have any square section rubber, so will have to make do with an O ring.

How much diesel was yours leaking?

From memory mine was an odd shape but it could have moulded from an o ring or whatever over time. The seal on mine was still intact and I left it in place when I smeared the sealent on.

Any idea what sealant you used? Hylomar or silicone based/RTV?

Drip every couple of seconds with the engine running from memory.
Twas 5 or so years back.

Mine is pouring out, 2 continuous streams when the engine isn’t running.

If you can find it at short notice reinzosil is very good. I think Bennets or Euros sell it. I know what its like using one of these as a daily drive, unreliable pieces of crap, mine has had nearly 500 quid spent on it this month , the bloody needy ****ting thing, its sat out there with no back brakes now and I need to sort it by Monday morning!

Much appreciated. I have requested permission from the long haired general to use her motor tonight, my argument was that she wouldn’t need it while sleeping. So for the day at least, my panic is over.

I will try ECP for the Reinzosil. :)

If it’s the plate at the bottom in the picture in the link with the raised bit be careful when you remove the screws they’re Torx I think and you knacker them very easy I think I had to use an Irwin bolt remover on one of mine , also there is a spring inside and there might be some shims . Only know as I removed mine to fit my boost ring .

That’s the opposite side, as in the side closest the engine. Mine is leaking form the side closest the wing. It looks almost the same, so will take care.

@mick 1986
You sorted it yet? Remove screws/bolts out the plate & turn the seal upside down.re fit making sure not to pinch between plate& pump.
Mine went & it drops diesel by the litre in minutes.
Good luck
