Neither really.
Cars, in general, have got much more expensive over the last few years, so neither of these prices surprise me. To illustrate the point, I got a nice new FL2 2.2 XS in 2011. I’d just about get a Fiesta 1.0 for that money now.
I bought a new L405 V8 in 2017 for a price that would buy me an average 110 now - it just isn’t worth it.
As for buying a French Defender clone, I’d be looking to pay Chinese knock off money, which it isn’t.
I’ll hang on to what I’ve got.

l was hoping the new Defender would start at £30,000 but that was never going to happen
