Hey guys.

Hoping someone can help.

Basically hazard lights work fine. Indicators just flash like buggery and can't seem to get them to work properly

So far I've cleaned all the connections, cleaned all the earths I can find and they are still playing up.

I'm all out of ideas. Anyone got any suggestions?

Cheers
Rob

Hi. Yes all 6 work just flashes really fast on indication but hazards they work fine. And it's a disco 300tdi es.

Not actually sure if they worked as I fitted a flasher relay from another disco. as when I bought it it didn't have one.
Since fitting the relay though they haven't worked properly. Well hazards do and have. Can feel the relay clicking etc.
Only thing I've done since having it is removing both the front wings to do some welding on the inner wings.

I assume the relay you fitted is from a disco with 6 indicators?
Are all the indicator bulbs the correct wattage 21w?
When i said six i meant 4 at rear and 2 at front would be 8 including front wing repeaters :)

Ah I'm with you.

This disco only has the 2 in the rear bumper. None in the rear quarter bit.

The relay came out of a 6 indicator version. Had the indicators in bumper and rear quarter bit.

So I guess that's why they flash like mad then?

Am I right in saying I need part no. YWT 10003 rather than AMR 4873?

From what I can tell the YWT part can handle a max of 4x21 watt bulbs whereas the relay I have will handle up to 8.

Is this correct?

It might be the relay, but I've changed the pillar rear lights on many a '97 and '98 Disco TDi 300 for ones with the indicators in and never had to change the flasher relay.

Cheers for the heads up :)

Ordered on off fleabay for a fiver so thought I may as well try it. Hoping it does work as MOT is at the end of the week  Will be slightly pee'd off if it fails over something silly like this after all the work I've done to it.

If it's not the relay... Well.... I'll be back :D

Cheers

No you wont have a problem that way round, but what will happen eventually is the relay will burn out due to the extra current (amps) being drawn through it, 3 bulbs instead of 2
