Hi guys. I’m not well up on technical issues so I’m hoping for some help here. My 98 defender has starting problems. Sometimes when I switch on, the red key light flashes. I press the right button on my fob....bingo...the light goes out...and it starts. Then today I went through the same procedure....and the light won’t go out and of course, it won’t start. It definitely is not the battery in the fob ( even I can replace a battery). Any ideas

I think the light flashing is just telling you to de-activate the alarm, or the horn will start sounding and the indicators flashing.

Have you tried pressing the button twice? It may be that the alarm has a super locking level on it, and that has somehow got activated.
