Immobiliser fault, help please

am i right in thinking the socket it needs to plug into is under the glovebox, i have not looked yet so not sure what it looks like, but i did have someone plug a laptop in under there once to remove an air suspension alarm message.
 
i bet you sitting thinking hope this works haha, it will. have you charged your bat up to full? how long has it been since you drove it,if your on the bumpstops leave you drivers door open when you start her up, to give it a chance to fill air up..j

you is welcome, keep it in the car with you all the time, it will go again. now why did it go flat? did you leave it for a long time, or just over night..
 
the car was left for 2 weeks, but i wouldnt have thought it should go completely flat in that time

I reckon at 30 milliamps which is what the BECM draws, 2 weeks equals 70 amp hours which is not far off the capacity of some of the batteries that seem to be fitted, so unless you have a big battery, fully charged and in good condition it will be flat after 2 weeks:eek:
If I have to leave mine for more than a week, even though it has a 110 amp battery, I plug a solar panel in to keep the battery topped up:D
 
I hate to dribble on your chips datatek, but i think you might need some new batteries for your calculator, my mental arithmetic tells me its closer to 100 days at 30mA on a 70AH battery, obviously it would have other things draining the battery at the same time. but i will keep you posted as to wether i do have a real problem and if so what i have found and hopefully resolved. any ideas though would be welcome.

30Ma for 1 hour X 24 = 720Ma per day X 7 = 5.04 amp hours per week so you are quite right, my only excuse is that I did it my head and I'm stuffed up with a cold:eek:
The fact remains that 2 weeks seems to be about the max to leave the car before the battery is flat. Batteries do self discharge of course and different quality batteries self discharge at different rates. The Gel battery on my standby generator will start the generator after standing for a year or more.:D
 
I wouldn't trust my battery to start the car after standing two weeks, the battery is new and I dont have the RF receiver or becm waking problems. When I ain't using the car for longer than a week, the trickle charger goes on it.
