While my pride and joy is being put right after January's conflict, Stratstone LR delivered a '56 TD4 S for me to motor about in.

I've been very impressed, its a bit clattery and noisier than my 1.8, but generally smoother and nice to drive. I guess the 104,000 mile difference has some part to play - my shocks might be worn!!

Its done 11K, so service will be due soon.

Anybody know how many miles remain in the tank when the fuel light illuminates?? - Putting fivers in at a time as my car wont take long to put right.

Cheers

Steve

i have got about 60 more miles after the light comes on.
but i have also been caught short a couple of times.
so dont normally push it past 35-40 miles before filling.
but its ok till the needle goes right below/past the last white line on the fuel guage.
Richard.

Thanks Rich,

They will prob collect next week, but that useful info.

Is it naughty to carry a jerry can in the boot? then fill up when you dare, so you don;t have to put in anymore than you need to ?

If you run out, the TD4 is self priming so just fill and go...

Jerry Can is in the garage full of derv. Will keep topped up to the same level vehicle was received until collected.

Can't see why they can't exchange on a full tank and then invoice if you dont fill up before returning / collection??

more aggro than it's worth, people always cop the camel when asked to pay, then they've got to chase the money and argue. easier just to say "it is what it is, take your chance"
