couple of answers in red :p

most of the bits you describe will run nowhere near 6k and are just replacement items eg. indicators are about £20 a set, petrol cap £8, locks £8.

If it has a rear disc conversion and the fact you still havent mentioned the age im guessing its pre 1990. It has no real mods (cranked arms, hd bumpers, winch etc.) and im guessing you watched the episode of wheeler dealers where fatty brewer robbed some poor (fake?) soul of 6k hard earned.

unfortunately unless its absolutely mint and described properly you will struggle to get anywhere near that.

But ill go scratchings, curly wurly and a snickers ;)

okay maybe i should add more..sorry for being vague.. im a landy fan not a landy fixer..my neighbour/best mate is a **** hot landrover tech/specialist and services fixes all my stuff!! he knows more than me!!

its been lifted 2", huge nobby tyres... new exhaust... last bloke added the grossly expensive centre £400+console instead of the usual bodged chequer plate box the gearbox all with strengthened bits cost around £700 with reinforced strong bits!!! oh and i guess should have mentioned new carb!!!

and its not far to cadbury world!!!! you guys need a day out!! (and as for the shandy drinker....guessing you in wrong site!!!)

impressed you members have a sense of humour!!! but then we are all landrover fans..a sense of humour is needed!!!
 
oh sorry bobbler..its sprayed allthough i noticed a very small peeling bit on inside of drivers door and near old blanked out air vent under screen ...(not a big job for my chap to spray up)...does anyone seriously brush paint a car????
 
oh and i dont watch wheeler dealers ..what ever that is!!! i just love landrovers and bought it cos it looks and sounds fantastic!!!...mind it actually runs now!!!

have a look through the defender section you will be surprised how many do :) and some even do a good job of it ;)

think the best place would be auto trader or ebay but if you really want to get as much back as possible you would be wise to wait until winter. Especially if we get more than an inch of snow on the ground.

would be very interested in pics of the centre console though. £400 must be something special.
 
i'll get some pics of it and post !!

apparently not many people buy it..(the centre console that is!) cos its bloody expensive!! makes interior tunnel between seats useable hides all the crap and gives a cubby box too!! all in black plastic to match dash!! oh and two drinks holders!!!

the guy that did the body work and major metal work (not the mechanical stuff) used car as a cash dump poss so his wife didnt get hands on cash!!

what were your thoughts on peterborough show?? im guessing autotrader was my usual choice just figured there might be a specialist mag or something? (im not a fan of ebay cos theres some real **** on there!!)
 
you might get lucky at peterborough if you stick a for sale sign in it.

theres a guy i was talking to at billing who had sold a couple for good money from his stand.

doesnt cost anything to try if you are going anyway.
 
may well do that then..stick it on my trailer behind the range i just bought!!

know ive broken the ice i'll be back to ask more no doubt ... i have a miss fire on a td4 freelander sport at 3000revs at 50mph even after new injectors!!...but i'll leave you guys alone tonight!!
