Hi, I'm new here so I thought I'd introduce myself to you lovely people. I'm a female and have owned a Series IIA for about 30 years - she is a 1961 2.8 petrol and is lovely xxxx
Recently I've bought a 1995 Discovery which I've named Herbie - because it just randomly locks me inside and laughs at me trying to get out! This is so embarrassing. When I pull up in a supermarket car park and try to get out - if I notice a person in a nearby vehicle, I often just drive to an isolated spot to try to free myself from the vehicle in privacy!! I've posted a question in hopefully the correct section about this so I might have the last laugh after all....

I'm female and I live in south Wales - I'm a widow so all things mechanical I am starting to learn about - never had to bother before - just make the tea lol. I also have a passion for VW campervans and own a 1974 Bay Window and go to many festivals throughout the year. I've even driven the camper from Land's End to John O'Groats a couple of years back.

I'm looking forward to making new friends on here and getting some advice when I'm fretting!!! Bye for now xx

Welcome Chrisse , fantastic choice of vehicles . Lots of advise on here already written and huge amounts of knowledge from some really clever people . Beware of some though especially via contoversial subjects in 'anything goes'. Some can be downright cruel and nasty . Overall its a really fun forum to be involved with and addictive but mostly enjoy a favourite waste of time .

Hi and welcome to the forum.. As Discogal said the forum can be a bit irreverent and some of the more obnoxious members can be downright rude  just give as good as you get and don't take it personally and you'll fit in fine.. :D

Probably best to add that Dogsbody is a compulsive liar and never to trust anything that he says

Or I might be lying, he might just be a drunk

:D

There's no battery compartment in the key I've got...

Hi Chrissie

I'm no expert but I used to have a similar Disco. I thought they all had central locking and the electronic immobilser thing. Its one of the reasons I bought a Defender :D

If so it must have a battery somewhere. If it doesn't have a compartment does the who thing split into two. One of my keys did that but I cant remember which one.
