Hi all

I've been viewing the landy zone forums for a year or so looking for ideas and info in buying myself a nice old Series number. I finally got one 6 months ago and then signed up to the site after it was stolen a couple of nights back. Anyway - I've been bloody lucky and got her back mostly unscathed and wanted to say thanks for the advice and decided I really ought to join in as everybody seems so lovely and I've got a hell of a lot to learn. Being a lady landy owner doesn't half cause some raised eyebrows but my eyes have been opened to a genuine community recently, so cheers.

Jo

welcome along jo,glad you got your landy back did you have any security on it when it was stolen?

It's got an isolator and a definite knack to start. But other than that no. I normally rely on location but had to park elsewhere for a couple of nights so not got that advantage. Lesson learnt, but now need a better plan.

Glad to hear you got your landy back, invest some money in an anti theft device or a cut off switch. it won't make your landy theft proof but it will make it harder for the little B@$~$*s. And welcome to the zone:welcome2::D

What would you suggest as an anti theft effort. I'm def going to get some kind of alarm but as a physical barrier I'm not sure what's the best way to go. I'm aware of many options (some suggested on here) and realise its to slow them down not stop them but what is most effective and simple to use regularly? The disklock sounds good but is huge and I've got 4 kids in with me and a lot of crap, so space is bit of a problem. Are the gear stick ones any good?

Back in petrol vehical days used to take the rotor arm out from the distributer if left for a few days or left in theivin scroat areas, not everday practical advice but keep it in mind, death penalty for theivin b***ds would be a harsh but fair assistance in these matters :)
