The old lightweight is suffering due to damp. It wont start unless I dry out the dizzy with a hair dryer. I used to use 'Damp Start' ignition sealer but its not available anymore. Car Plan do one, has anyone used it? Is it any good? Or what else are people using to seal ignition systems?

Never used it, I always used wax oil the same stuff you spray in your chassis and any where else you can get it to waterproof and prevent rust.

Any oil based spray should work well enuff even a coating of wd40.

What I used to do with mine, for heavy fording and general wet use was:

Pull off the plug leads, fill the plug ends with silicone and push them back onto the plugs.

Pull the leads out of the distributor, fill the lead seats and the lead caps with silicon, and put them back.

Take off the distributor cap, seal around the edge with (you guessed it) silicon, including sealing around the LT lead hole, and refit the cap.

Good for 4’ depth if you push a good bow wave.
