IE crapping out when oper thread in new tab

I had the same issue yesterday (Win 7 home premium IE9) everything seems back to normal today though.

as has just been said on the other compooter fred, install firefox with adblock plus and hey presto no slowing down or freezing.

But I didn't really say that coz I luvz the forum sponsors and think their adverts are not only informative but a real asset to LZ

Problem is lots of peeps view the forum using works computers and they don't have the permissions to install other browsers. When searching the web with uk.hosting.adjug.com I see other forums like mg-rover having trouble with it too. We should ban chippies until it's resolved.

Funny you should mention adjug, if you read my thread you will see Ive just been dangled in space for over an hour waiting for it to load up when thread searching. This is ****ing me off. Is my landyzone experience coming to an end? I think its looking like it, thanks adjug you pricks.

The fix at the moment seems to be to install another browser as the fault is thought to be internet explorer 8 not being able to handle the problem which others can. Intresting reading their site. They mention responsibility and crashing sites not being their fault, as a default wording.

Had the same today on the fastest m/c in the house, Was on other forums and all were exhibiting damned sluggish behaviour - similar to here.

Go to: Tools > Internet Options then Advanced tab then untick the option saying "Enable third party browser extensions"

But when it did crap out the adjug fing wern't at the bottom of the screen.

I gets the feeling that adjug will be very unpopular as loads of forums on the web is talking about this.

When my internet locks up I go to the task manager (right click on the task bar and select task manager to get it to come up, or press ctrl alt delete at the same time). I then click on the Processes tabs and find the process called iexplore. I then click on this once, then click Image Name above this to sort them in alphabetical order, then look to see how many iexplorer’s there are. The one with the highest memory count gets stopped. Right click on it and select End Process to stop. Then my locked up internet screen works again.

It seems the issue is to do with there being an additional iexplore window which takes up about 50k of memory, which int much. Kill that and it works ok.

I don't use the tabs system. New windows for me.
