My 110 TD runs well sweet, but after revving the idle speed sometimes takes
ages to get down to normal & sometimes it's ok? Anyone got any ideas before
i start prodding?

Lubed the linkages & it's now fine!!! Bloody steam cleaning!

nige .

if you see the small spring loaded linkage/lever at the very front of
injector pump, on the top of pump next to the plastic fuel pipe union .

this has an 8mm locknut and adjuster .

youll notice if you push the lever back the revs will rise .

to adjust the idle down and allow the revs to drop freely and quickly
you need to undo the 8mm locknut and undo the screw on this linkage so
the lever closes the gap between itself and the pipe inion , youll see
the revs drop anyway when unscrewing the screw..

when adjusting this linkage though the revs may well drop too low
making engine cut out , so if you want to stop this happening when you
adjust this back by a fair amount you also need to adjust the main
throttle linkage at the same time [bit by bit ] to increase idle revs
back up again .

the main throttle link has a 10mm locknut and screw , you adjust the
revs up with this in conjunction with unscrewing the small linkage
thats making revs drop .

once youve backed off the small linkage and adjusted the main linkage
to give you the desired idle speed again you will see that when you rev
the engine up by moving the main throtle linkage , the revs will drop
back relatively quickly and down to idle speed .

when trying to undo the 8mm locknut , hold the bracket of the small
linkage with pliers of grips, the bracket isnt very strong and bends
easily .

i dont know a lot about the lucas inj pump but i think the small
linkage at front of pump is also a fuel metering adjustment for
emmissions .

my landy 2.5na was not dropping the revs properly when throttle
released and it still revved a bit when i came to traffic lights etc ,
so i set about adjusting the pump as per above and its all fine now and
runs properly .

id also noted before adjustment that i had black smoke from exhaust a
lot of the time but after adjusting the small linkage and readjusting
idle on main linkage i now dont see that smoke .

hope this helps as ive not seen any replies or info relating to
adjusting fuelling etc on lucas injector pumps as used on the 2.5TD and
N/A engines 12j & 19j

cheers.
ian .
