idle problems.

hi, joind theforum today and hopeing for a bit of help. my rrc 3.5 runs fine for a while until it gets to running temp, then starts to pulsate (hunt) i have changed the fuel filter, plugs ,leads, cap, rota, still playing about and being a pain, i cant find any air leaks , also seams to have a lack of power, any help would be good...

3.5 on flapper ? not behaving when hot -
Check the coolant thermistor.
Remove the wiring plug from the cold start injector (the one at the back of the plenum) if it hasn't already been removed.
Check thermo time switch.

As an outside bet - You might also have a stretched timing chain, so maybe check the timing?

Classic symptoms of a dying ECU.Just plug another one in.

thank's for the info, geting a air flow meter and ecu at the weekend. is it worth buying anew ecu or can you trust a second hand one.also if i was to get it bobtailed is it hard to get insurance.thanks again ookie..........

I think you would struggle to find a new ecu......
