I Wanted One, I Bought One, I Don't Know Why, is This Normal?

Thanks.

It works out just under £29 after 15% payday discount. Take into account the delivery on the other oil which is £5.50 and it'll be £23.50 (the way I look at it lol) for 6 litres. Sadly they don't seem to stock anything much cheaper.

Hvae you tried google search for local oil merchants? I buy all my oil for the place down the road, engine oil, gear oil, mtf, power steering. 20l drums of engine and gear oil, choice of branded or own brand, cheap as chips!

Completely agree, bulk is the way to go. Sadly it isn't my space that I'm taking up, and apparently I already have enough "junk" about the place . Will have a think over the weekend, maybe make a phone call or two, not planning on doing much until March/April anyway, just hate playing postage on things:rolleyes:.

So do I! :) Thats why I suggested the oil merchant, mine is just round the corner, so I pick up the drums when I am passing.

Not a great deal has happened in the last few months, been busy with other bits and pieces, and it's being used daily so I can't do anything too involved.

Carried out another full service a while ago using OEM filters along with Halfords 10w40 oil, Smiths & Allen EP90, and MTF94 in place of the originally used ATF fluid. For the first week the slight notch going into 2nd was completely gone, it has returned ever so slightly but it's much smoother now compared to how it was after the first oil change. Maybe it's just because the 2 oil changes have flushed something out of the gearbox, maybe it's the different oil, either way it's good.

My mechanic mate did a timing belt change on a 300tdi recently and told me the kit they used was on offer. So I decided I may as well get mine done whilst he can get the deal. Probably placebo affect but I'm sure it's smoother, quieter, and stronger than before. The slow oil leak from the front appears to have disappeared too, although it's not been parked for too long on a clean bit of tarmac, but time will tell.

I bought a snow cowl too ready for the wetter months, tired of turning my heater on and instantly being blinded by a fogged up screen which then refuses to dry out and requires constant wiping.

Water tightness report, sunroof has started to leak again after heavy showers.

In other news I've ordered a Golf R estate, however after using the Defender as a daily for a while I'm not sure I'll enjoy driving a tidy car again, at least with this I can leave it in a car park not really having to worry about a door ding.
