I have a 1967 series 2 SWB and want to change the engine. I'm near portsmouth does anyone know who is reliable and knows what they are doing? V8 or diesel?

I believe that the Perkins 2 litre diesel as fitted to the Austin Montego was a popular conversion for a series.
However, paying someone else to do it would probably cost more than the value of car so you may be better off repairing your original engine.
