When you did the v5 you must have got his address? Thanks everyone for the help so far.

I ALWAYS copy any docs before sending them to dvla in case the cleaner is the only one there when the post arrives. Doubt there's even a cleaner there at the moment.yeah i did but sent the V5 straight off. def got his number i remember he was Northampton way.
I think you're thinking of the DVLA 'points' system. You need to amass a certain number of point to retain a vehicle's ID. But it MUST include the chassis ( replacement - new only).if you swap parts from one vehicle to another, isn't there a totting up to how much you can do? or am i thinking of something else?

On this occasion I'd be inclined to agree, this sort of thing really ****es me off .if it's been like that for 6 years you could be worrying over nothing.

Hope so but i am a bit of a worrier about that kind of thing. I suppose if i keep it 5 years it would be 11 years since what ever happened, happened. Cheers

They don't have to be stressful but most often are for one reason or another.
Honestly its very hard when it comes to series and defenders, at first glance they all look the same but you have to know when certain model traits changed . As well as that the dvla don't make it easy by being so vague on details. As an aside my 1974 series 3 station wagon appears as what it should be with the dvla but on the mot check it is a 1971 defender 90! That concerned me so I phoned the dvla and was told that the details they hold are used by the authorities to check a vehicle and vosa deal with mot's. Have you tried calling vosa......don't waste your time.Always liked them, always loved the look of defenders, nearly brought one 10 years ago, thought this was a great deal. To be honest the mrs is used to it, my 72 bay screen camper had some hidden gems when i brought that! doh
