Un yer money should be put behind the bar. Start a tab orf for ratty. At the chip bar.I have to pop back on you little bunch of keyboard worriors Admit it. Yer couldn't resist.
Thanks for all the feedback you have given me a good laugh shame my landy still isnt going to well. Another put down, as if we don't know how to fix his motor. More would have been interested if it were not for the original comment referring us to being less than helpful. Once the thread got going there seems to be a 2 way conversation, which ma be why peeps didn't respond themselves.
Fair play I can see you guys strength in numbers and all that, but remember about the thick skin, you have to take is as well as giving it. There's always arguements on ere. Often the noobs feel they've been ganged up on. That only happens when they fight a silly corner. Or do daft thing like ripped off and highlander td4. Then the dummy spitting starts un it all goes lz.
Keep up the good work boys Either start a new fred spedific to yer engine problems, or give it to a garage. Yer need error codes check. If that dun't help then a local hawkeye owner may be about. But they may not want to get involved.
White smoke....possibly over fueling, check that last injector n make sure the contacts on the fuel rail pressure sensor are clean.
Theres also a known fault with the fuel rail pressure sensor harness which can be rectified with............a new harness.
Glad to see ye got out of the right side of bed today!
you can not get the wheel bearing wrong way round they are the same back to front but if it has not been put on right then there could be problem and if that has been done it could have messed up the abs sensor hope this helpsHi guys, Im new to your forum and sorry to dive in like this but im starting to lose it
I bought this TD4 knowing she had a few problems but by god its testing me.
Its a 53 plate 112K miles
1st, Grumbling rear wheel bearing,
2nd, Poor starting when warm.
3rd, Losing power up hill.
4th The 3 amigos on.
5th The brake warning light comes on, the one in the rev counter at about 10 mph
So, I have sorted the rear wheel bearing,
Poor starting, I have done the spill back test and found 2 offending injectors which I have changed,
I have changed the rear fuel filter in the back arch, when letting the filter fill up the pumps had good flow and pressure.
It starts first knock in the mornings but takes a short while when warm, I have found out how to get the glow plugs working manually and if it put them on when the engine is warm it starts much better, could it be cam sensor ?
Loss of power, now this has just happened, it started not long after the injectors were changed, before you could really hear the turbo spooling up, now you can hardly hear it and when you hit a hill, guessing demanding full boost it backs off for about 15 seconds then starts to pull again. I have changed the MAF (New £35 off ebay :doh, all the small vacuum pipes going to the turbo, the small breather filter, the EGR valve also has been removed and the air pipe blanked off. I have had all the intercooler pipes off and inspected them.
Everything seems tight as it should be apart from the turbo air intake that comes down from the MAF, the pipe can be pulled off the turbo fairly easily but because its negative pressure I was thinking it would get pulled tight on the turbo when running.
The car has had a full service, oils, filters (inc the oil breather filter)
Any Ideas??
The 3 Amigos, I hear the last owner changed the front wheel bearing and could have put it in the wrong way, Im thinking this is why the warning light comes on around 10 mph. So Im not to worried about this for now, I have new discs to fit to it so ill do the bearing when I change the discs.
As you can see I was thinking quick fixes then away but its not turning out that way, any help would be greatly appreciated.
All banter aside - I wonder why you only changed 3 injectors and not the 4th? Also what about the Cam sensor? I had mine unplugged once by mistake and it was flat and smokey.
I found Pierburg Maf and Synergy2 a great improvement.
I am not sure but I read somewhere on a post that unplugging injectors while running can damage the ECU - someone on her will confirm I am sure - be patient though lots of the guys who know are busy and don't read every day - it's free advice so I suppose the payment is the wait.
Glad to see you didn't go away - stick in there.
