ex mod landies usually have about 1" of thick black underseal on em. in ten years of working on em i never seen one that had any rust underneath, cept fer one used soley fer launching boats. if i wur thinking about buying it that would be a main point of concern or for those that have english as a second langauge , main issue.

it certainly looks abit fooked underneath and if that has bin neglected then what else has? take someone with yer that knows series landies and give it a good going over.
from the pics i'd say yer shocks are likely to be fooked, the diff pan looks like it might be leaking, there int a piccy of the front swivels yet he a shot of underneath the back,are the leaky front swvels the reason fer lack of piccies of em?

and the mileage...58,000kms thats around 40,000miles.ish. somehow i don't think so!

its has all the appearance of something thats bin laid up in a barn fer years
 
I know fk all about Landrovers at the minute (I learn quick tho') but it don't 'alf make me feel better about my 800 quids worth of same year Landy!

OK, looking for alternatives. I want anything with a V8 and minimal rust. Prefer a soft top. I know you can change the tops but seems like it could be a pain and soft top kits seem expensive.

So, V8 (or decent alternative), minimal rust, soft top, prefer 110 so I can move my motocross bike around :D

Guess I might have to go over budget. I read the buying guide on here, very good guide so thanks for that :)

Does anyone know the load area dimensions of 90 and 110s?
 
V8s seem rare, how much is it to have the engine swapped? Is it a massive job or straight forward? I can do electrics no hassle, just the mechanical stuff stumps me sometimes.

  • Chassis is sound, but at some point in the future it could do with replacing. It has got to that age where at every MOT it may need a new bit of chassis repair.
  • Bulkhead has a repairable hole in the passenger footwell, and I think it is starting to deterioate in the box section under the windscreen, again at some point in the future it could do with replacing.
  • Reverse gate spring is tired or missing, needs careful selection of 4th gear. This is a straightforward job to do.

piece of **** to sort out and it's got a long mot so plenty of time to sort it,patching the chassis isn't hard and a footwell repair is easy.it's fairly close to you and it's ticking all your boxes and it looks like it is going to go cheap.i'd buy it if i didn't already have one.
if you can't weld then learn because sometime during your land rover ownership that skill will come in handy,as an old fabricator friend of mine says 'if you can **** you can weld'!!!!
 
I can sort of weld (I can stick two bits of metal together with a mig welder!!!). Just didn't want the hassle.

V6 is is fine, just love the V8 sound (pathetic reason to buy a car I know but...) :eek:
 
there is a really straight v8 in the back of the LRO mag with 20k never been welded looks spot on for 2500 of your english pounds
