Seriously tho'.
Use your spare wheel as a base for your high-lift. it sometimes helps if you thread a piece of rope/sling through the spokes to aid recovery if it sinks a bit.
Lift each end and stuff rocks/wood under the wheels to aid traction.
Or:
Lift each end as high as possible and slew the car to the side - hopefully onto better ground.
Done this plenty of times.
