Does the frequency of the tapping match a flat spot on a single cam lobe (half tickover rpm) about 5 a second
Oil pressure down then?In some cases this could be the answer! However not in mine, I change every 3k with either Castrol or Morris oil and genuine filters.
Cheers
Alex
Hi!The most conspicuous aspect is tha the knocking stops while engine is revving down or pushing operation (is this the right wording?) and no injection is done...so i assume it's not an mechanical/oil issue....put in 1st gear, roll downwards no knocking, in the flat when injection is made to drive forward knocking comes back.
No solution found so far....after driving some long distances on highway, I have the feeling that knocking becomes quiter... but it's kind of unsatisfying...Hi!
Find you the source of this knocking? Now I have same issue on my TD5 D2...
Changed many parts, few weeks ago - damper-crankshaft, waterpump, alternator, starter, but knocking was before all that. 378000km, but engine perfect working and starting. No solution found so far....after driving some long distances on highway, I have the feeling that knocking becomes quiter... but it's kind of unsatisfying...
Do you have something changed on our engine? Could you please give some details about your engine?
