i have in my sweaty mitts, a document given to me by my mot tester last week
titled refusal of an mot test certificate
bottom rh corner is a section titled "about this document"
item one reads .....blah , blah,"if you intend to use your vehicle on the road you should have it repaired without delay and have it retested before the existing test validity expires"
to me that means the test failure does not cancel the existing mot. repaired without delay doesnt say you cant use it...... as with anything common sense should be used.... in my case a couple of 10p sized rust patches on the sil near the rear seatbelts isnt going to stop me using the vehicle to carry me and me tools till it expires....ill use the wifes car if carrying the kids in the back.
