I hope it is not rude to join this Zone to get help with an issue I'm having. I love my 96 Disco. I've owned it for only 6 months, but we have had some great times. Today was not one. My beloved Disco Queen is immobilized.

I lock my vehicle by the key at the drivers door because if I push the lock down it pops back up. When I tried to lock it up at work today I felt something break and the door did not lock. I thought it would be safer to lock the front doors so I opened the rear door, reached around and locked the drivers door. After work when I opened the back door and then manually unlocked the drivers door the alarm went off and now the vehicle is immobilized.

I removed the door panel and the lock is broken. I can see a little sensor with a tiny button that looks like an actuator. I pushed it up a couple times but nothing was happening.

It was midnight and freezing so I took a cab home, but tomorrow after work I need to get my baby back on the road. Anybody have any ideas?

Thank you

Welcome - Sounds like its immobilised.
Do you have the Emergency Key Access code (EKA) 4 digit code?
And does the drivers door lock work with the key?

Thanks for responding.
I do not have the code, yet.
The door lock is broken. It is not sending a signal to the ****box. I removed the door panel. Looks like a black plastic retaining clip broke. The key turns in the lock but it is not engaging the locking mechanism or actuating the alarm sensor. At least it looks like a sensor. It's a little rectangular electronic part with a tiny button on it. It is located close to the key lock mechanism.inside the door panel.
