Have tried searching for the answer so please don't shoot me, I need 2 new tyres I currently have 195/80/15s have been told I can put 205/80/15s on as long as they are on the same axle is this true please?

Noooooooo!
I wouldn't have thought so as this would increase the rolling circumference of the tyre......by how much I'm not sure without using a tyre size calculator.
You could change all 4 but not just 2 probably

I had a long answer typed out, but basically: DON'T DO IT!

Change all 4

The difference between 195 and 205 affects the width, but the circumference, but it's still a really bad idea to only change 2.
Tyre suppliers may tell you different. Don't believe them.

These are the differences, sorry for the alignment of he text -

Another clueless tyremonger trying to kill your IRD . Get a set of four good tyres that will last you and don't look back. Also make sure you get them rotated every few k to make sure they wear evenly.

Thank you that was pretty much what I thought, landyzone saves the day :D

The nearest equivalent to your originals is 205/70-15, not 205/80-15. Even so, you should fit a full set of four

Ffs! The first no is the width in mm, the second is the profile of the sidewall, the third is the rim diameter. The profile isn't a fixed value it's a percentage of the width, so the sidewall on a 195/80/15 is 80% of 195mm on a 205/80/15 it's 80% of 205mm, any retarded tyre monkey should know that and you don't do it on a 4x4 particularly one like the freelander! You end up with the wheels spinning at different speeds which not only winds up the transmission but can also trigger abs or traction control or put faults in the systems! I'd go elsewhere cos they don't deserve your money!!!:D
