anyone know how to separate transfer box from a ZF4hp24 gearbox, do I have to open up the transfer box

Six bolts. Pull it off. But a little heavy.

is it full of oil, I drained gearbox

It will have oil in, it and gearbox are separate as far as oil is concerned.

It's about 60kg, i'ts not too much trouble to get out.

thanks for that Wammers............... yes very heavy it took 2 of us to lift it out. now for the gearbox, that looks easy job.
I'm putting a 4HP24 box as replacement its the 030 065 for my 2,5dse. as far as I know its a straight swap once you change the bell housing
