This is not a complete guide due to the type of paint i will be using.

Took the bonnet/hood off to start sanding for respraying, for a good respray you really have to go after it with some course grit paper, i used some cheap stuff i had kicking about for general sanding, You can really see that paint work wasnt really up to much to start with but it is a landrover so what do you expect.
After sanding with the course paper get some fine grit wet and dry and quickly go over it, you can get those cheap pads in packs of ten for about £1.50 / about $3
use some water with those, if you have a used one allready thats even better, you only need to soften the harsh lines from the course stuff,
if this was a new vehicle i would do it properly but in this case it doesn't really matter due to the paint im going to use.
Afetr quickly going over it with wet and dry using water give it a good clean to get rid of any paint you got off using the wet and dry.

No offence but yu might jus wanna blank yur reg out matey, id hate for ya to get cloned!

bajajaj, yeah, its all good,i still have to sort out some of the electrics aswell as getting some bulbs for the lights

at Ka0s, who'd wanna clone an old landrover, theres far better vehicles to clone

at buster, the washing up liquid thing is interesting, i have a sanding block for the harsh stuff but use those cheap wet and dry pads, you get 10 for a quid or so so im not to bothered about them lasting for eternity

i have sprayed a ton of stuff from fans to computer cases so this isnt my first time spraying, thats why im doing a quick guide for other users if they so wish to re-spray their landy

Set a good example if you want people to consider it a guide, get the bonnet up onto trestles before you chew up the corners of the bonnet on the tarmac, it's also easier on the back and legs if it's raised to waist height for rubbing down, then the water doesn't run up your arm:)

Or in the real world, wipe off any loose bits of dead insect, any that are well stuck can stay where they are, then slap some paint of approximately the right colour over the topwith a brush, or if you can't find a brush a trowel will do.. No need to remove panel from vehicle. Remember on series vehicles paint is an optional extra:)

if yer want a reet good finish take yer hinges off and paint them separately that avoids that unsightly 'mess' where the two parts join. also it has bin posted before by those that have done it, you get a better finish by using a roller rather than spraying a series

aint that just coz most peeps dont have a spray booth or the equipment? Roller being better than brush, or - in the case of the Dibnah, throwing a tin of paint at it and hoping?
