That's weird
These are the 4.0 V8 2000 results I got
How can a '98 4.6 be 10x more on NOx?

No EGR on my GEMS. MOT sheets don't show NOX. Is there even a test for it ?
I have received a c of c from landrover iv not managed to look at it yet, can I ask where you then sent this to.
TFL are telling me I have to open an account with them 1st then send them all the documents which I expect I have todo but open an account with tfl 1st ermmmm
Actually the TfL website says that you need a letter OR a CoC.You need to register your car with TFL here
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/compliance-registration/before-you-start
They need the coc, copy of V5, and a letter from land rover.
Land rover refused to give a letter but TFL accepted the V5 and CoC on their own.
I have an important update.
I received the Certificate of Conformity from Land Rover today for my 2000 4.0 P38.
According to the CoC the emission values are:
CO: 0.698 g/km
NOx: 0.051 g/km
HC: 0.131 g/km
HC + NOx: 0.182 g/km
Apparently Euro 4 has the following requirements:
CO: 1.0g/km (pass)
THC: 0.10g/km (fail, although not sure if it can be compared with HC or not/)
NOx: 0.08g/km (pass)
So it appears to not be Euro 4 compliant as it fails for HCs.
However, and this is important. ULEZ only care about NOx. Nothing else.
The ULEZ standards are: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone/ways-to-meet-the-standard
So, my old V8 appears to be ULEZ compliant after all.
- Euro 3 for motorcycles, mopeds, motorised tricycles and quadricycles (L category)
- Euro 4 (NOx) for petrol cars, vans, minibuses and other specialist vehicles
- Euro 6 (NOx and PM) for diesel cars, vans and minibuses and other specialist vehicles
I've just sent of my V5 ad CoC to TFL.
They said they need a signed letter form the manufacturer, but I will try my luck with their email for now.
I'll let you know how it works out.
Don't you believe it, they have bailiffs chasing ULEZ fines over hereI took a look at the CoC for my 2001 4.6L that I got from JLR when I re-registered my P38 in France. The emissions figures are completely different to a 4.0. Unfortunately it's very clearly not going to be ULEZ exempt although if I ever do drive in the ULEZ as I have French number plates & live in France I don't need to pay the ULEZ charge & they could never enforce payment of the PCN.
CO: 0.374 g/km
NOx: 0.434 g/km
HC: 0.084 g/km
HC + NOx: 0.518 g/km
TfL have Euro Parking Collection plc (EPC) acting as debt collectors & sending fake PCNs to registered keepers of overseas registered vehicles but that doesn't mean that these PCNs are enforceable abroad.Don't you believe it, they have bailiffs chasing ULEZ fines over here
A debt is a debt criminal or not, they are chasing and putting pressure on people to pay.TfL have Euro Parking Collection plc (EPC) acting as debt collectors & sending fake PCNs to registered keepers of overseas registered vehicles but that doesn't mean that these PCNs are enforceable abroad.
No Penalty Charge Notices issued in the UK are enforceable abroad whether issued for parking violations, ULEZ or Dartford Crossing etc It's because these decriminalised penalties have no overseas equivalent. They are not penalties imposed by a court like a fine but neither are they recoverable as civil debts as they are penalties (the clue is in the name). EPC can send as many letters as they like there is no legal mechanism by which PCNs could be enforced abroad. PCNs are only enforceable in the UK when particular timescales & rules are adhered to & it is impossible for these to be applied to foreign residents.
No UK PCN can be enforced abroad as there is no legal framework to establish any debt. Letters from debt collectors have no legal meaning & can be ignored.A debt is a debt criminal or not, they are chasing and putting pressure on people to pay.
Sorry, a certificate of compliance to ULEZ for a P38?I’ve got a reply from JLR all good there’s a certificate for my car there processing it now
There can also be a degree of internal egr depending on the cam profile. The Thor will have a different cam.Did the GEMS have EGR? Does the Thor engine? The intake setup was different so maybe that combined with absence of EGR would have much higher engine temperatures which would lead to higher nitrogen oxide levels.
Part of Type Approval. Not the MoT.No EGR on my GEMS. MOT sheets don't show NOX. Is there even a test for it ?
I'm sure that is true, but it does not stop debt collectors harassing people. I also have read that it comes up on the computer at customs when trying to re-enter the UK.No UK PCN can be enforced abroad as there is no legal framework to establish any debt. Letters from debt collectors have no legal meaning & can be ignored.
