Normally its our daily drive doing short hops around town, weekends it may get a good run out and on hols it may do a couple of thou Kms.
Today it did its first long run after the transmission rebuild. A 500+ Km round trip fishing to the Tekapo Canal & Lake Pukaki. Beautiful 30 degree day, fun fishing and the car performed fantastic
The journey was, at the time, uneventful until we got home and heard todays news. On our way out was passed a house being relocated. It was sitting on the back of a low-loader waiting for an escort over the Rakaia River bridge. Turns out an hour or so later a woman drove her car into it in Ashburton and killed herself.

Then on our way home we once again passed over the Rakaia bridge and a few minutes later a load of police cars pilled down the other way, lights flashing and turns out a car and truck had a head-on on the bridge - would literally have been a minute or 2 after we went over it. Don't know the outcome of that, but it ain't looking good.
As I say though, our day was great....
