Hi all - i know its difficult to quantify, but how good should the steering be on my old 90? Firstly she passed her mot ok - i replaced the 2 ujs between the steering wheel and the box, ive adjusted up the box to eliminate most of the play and replaced 2 of the track rods. Swivels have been fitted with new bearings and bushes and adjusted correctly. there is probably half inch of free movement now at the wheel. On a good road she tracks straight and true and im happy with her cruisin at 60, hit a bump on a minor road tho and she takes some pulling back online - she seems to sway from side to side.
Ive started now on suspension bushes - ive done the front end and its made a bit of difference but not a lot
- any ideas please guys or am i chasing something thats not acheivable?
oh btw - tyres are BFG mud terrain which i guess wont help

thanks steve

Hi

My 110 does the same the steering setup works well with no play in any of the linkages etc but with large tread mud tyres she can weave arounda bit espeically at speed or if the tyres ahve got warm. I aslso have roughly an inch of freeplay in the wheel but it has resistance behind it so not loose feeling.

:)

Normal susp bushtoy. there is a steering damper already fitted but not sure how effective it is

mine kinda did the same and i did a complete suspension bush upgrade plus fitted OME coils n springs and damper....came out perfect [TD5 110]. mine felt like it wus rear wheel steering tho, so rather than stuff around tryin ta pinpoint the culpret, just did the lot. spensive way o doin it tho
