Sorry for replying to old posts but 90mph in a freelander is a lot more comfortable than in a Defender lol :p

A tratter at 90mph would be scary. Can they actually go that fast in standard factory form...

Around 120 in ideal winds, the Mk1 Auto TD4 with a power box doesn't seem to want to stop, but it could get your name in the papers and off the roads for a year.

Found a great big dirty nail right through the middle of one of my tyres this morning. Do YOU check your tyres for these gremlins before you hit Warp-9 ? Imagine a full blow-out at top speed. Reapers get bored from time to time... don't make it easy for them.

Coming back from Lincs on Saturday, I pulled just over an indicated 100 mph on the flat in my 110, doesn't drive any worse at that speed than at 60. Was a arrow straight road though and I gave up because I can imagine all those internal components wizzing about The passenger who was in his eighties was eager to see how fast my 110 would go, compared to his Series 1 LOL

Peeps need to remember a vehicle is built with a specific maximum speed in mind. If tampering to make them go faster you may be going over the standard fit tyre speed rating. Also the suspension, brakes etc may not be able to cope with the higher speed. Going faster is one thing... being able to control it and brake is another.
