I know with one of them the chassi has to be spotless and with the other one it doesnt matter if its really well clean.

Clean as in spotless with not a hint of dirt or moisture is the ideal starting point.... but in reality that's just not feasible, so as clean and dry as you can get it. And it applies to both equally :)
